The Second Civil War: The Confederacy Under Attack...Again

From the July 25, 2017, Google Alerts for Confederate. **  Rockville Confederate Statue Removed.  ((m)ontgomery County, Maryland)  (Loss)    The statue weighed 13 tons and had stood over 100 years.  It will be installed near White's Ferry.  The county paid $100,000 for the removal. The reasoning for removal was that it just represented Confederates.  Personally I think they should just have put up a statue to honor Union soldiers and be done with it. So, another city joins those lower-cased in shame. So Sad, (r)ockville.  --Old Secesh

The first thing is that the town or city that takes the statue down goes to lower case instead of capitalization for their shame.  So far, the cities of (n)ew (o)rleans, (l)ouisville, (s)t. (l)ouis and (o)rlando have gone lower case. I also then intend to boycott the city until I get over it.  (If I do.) --Old Secesh

The anti-Confederate movement has been going on for many years and was really sparked by the Civil War sesquicentennial starting in 2011, but ever since the horrific Charleston, S.C. murders, Blacks and their minions have really gone on the offensive. First they were going after Confederate flags, but now that has gone a step further and they are after Confederate statues, monuments and memorials in public places. Exactly where they are headed with this is not known, but I doubt that they will stop after all Confederate statues, monuments and memorial are down. At some point this needs to stop. --Old Secesh

I am going to take a stab at creating a new blog here.  This will be an outgrowth of my Saw the Elephant Civil War Blog. I have been thinking that I am writing way too much in Saw the Elephant Blog about the new onslaught on the Confederacy especially stemming ever after the murders in Charleston two years ago.  I plan on writing my Civil War II/Confederacy Under Attack blog entries here and keeping the original blog for just things from the original Civil War, where my primary interest lies anyway.
